Introduction

Hello! Welcome to #Spirit Applied, a weekly devotional aimed at applying snapshots of bible verses to improve ourselves, our lives, and the lives around us. The bible can be a very intimidating book. It is a combination of extremely old stories, laws, letters, wisdom, etc, and is written by many different people across three continents and three different original languages. It feels like you need a degree to truly understand what’s going on

And that’s just not necessarily true. All that stuff is great and worth getting into, however, this devotional will not be getting into all that. The bible, through these stories and complicated text, is rich full of things to learn that we can use and apply to our lives. Things like: what it means to be a “good” person. How do I become a better father for my children? How do I deal with my fear? What is my purpose in life? This devotional will help you achieve these things or at least show you God’s point of view of them. And like a bird diving into the the surface of the vast ocean to catch a bite, we’ll do so by diving into the vastness of the knowledge contained in the bible to catch our little bites of wisdom.

And I really do mean “our”. I myself am doing this for my betterment. I have been a Christian my whole life, yet I still feel like an infant when it comes to spirituality and biblical knowledge. (This is also the reason why we will definitely not be going into things like the End Times here; I’m just not qualified) However, I know for a fact, that this book can and will help you improve your life. For I have seen the slow moving miracle of me becoming just a little bit better the closer I get to Christ.

So, with this devotional, I’m hoping you and I grow. I’m hoping you and I start examining our daily lives and start making small postive changes. One step at a time.

I think we will be diving into a lot of Proverbs, James, and Ecclesiastes, but making sure we stop by the four Gospels and seeing what Jesus has to say. If any of you have any examples, feel free to drop it in any comments here on our site or on Facebook. In fact, any criticism is welcome here. Discussion is also okay, just make sure to keep it polite, loving, and focused

God bless, and let’s see where this takes us! The first one should come out on Sunday, 7/12/2020 and I’m looking to post every Sunday after
